A Special Research Project to confirm the birth dates and location for Sir Isaac Pennington, his spouse and his children and to provide copies of the sources has been approved by the Board of Directors.

The Pennington Research Association (PRA) Board of Directors has approved funding for a research project in England. A PRA Member will manage the research in England and work directly with both professional and non-professional genealogists to conduct research in England.

We will seek interested genealogists (professional and non-professional) to submit their proposal to us so we can evaluate and select a genealogist to conduct the research for the PRA.

The primary goal of this research project is to confirm birth dates and location for Sir Isaac Pennington, reportedly born 1587, London, England, married 7 February, 1614/15, died 17 December 1661, Tower of London, London, England, spouse Abigail Allen, no further information and to confirm birth dates and location for his spouse and children.

The objectives of the research project are:

    1. Locate and copy documentation/evidence/sources that will confirm the birth and death dates and locations for Sir Isaac Pennington, reportedly born 1587, London, England, died 17 December 1661, Tower of London, London, England.

    2. Locate and copy documentation/evidence/sources that will confirm the marriage dates and locations for all of the spouses of Sir Isaac Pennington, reportedly born 1587, London, England, died 17 December 1661, Tower of London, London, England. We have information that one of his spouses is Abigail Allen, unknown birth or death date or locations for these events.

    3. Locate and copy documentation/evidence/sources that will confirm the birth and death dates and locations for the children of Sir Isaac Pennington, reportedly born 1587, London, England, married 7 February, 1614/15, died 17 December 1661, Tower of London, London, England, spouse was Abigail Allen, unknown birth or death date.

The three words on the scroll of the Coats of Arms are "Vincit amor patriae"

"Vincit amor patriae" means "The love of my country prevails" or "Love of Country Conquers" which is the United States Army 28th Infantry Regiment's motto.   "Vincent amor patriae laudumque immensa cupido" means "The love of my country exceeds everything."

The following motto appears in English above the mountain cat of the original Baron Muncaster Crest.  "Firm, Vigilant, Active" -Virg. AEn. vi. 823 v. Muncaster b. Pennington
